FAQ

Experience is not necessary. I aim to make all my classes accessible and beginner friendly, unless otherwise specified (workshop, etc)
-
What are the benefits of yoga?
There are multiple physical and mental benefits of yoga, but a major goal of yoga is liberation for all beings. To do this, we use and honor teachings passed down by Indigenous, South Asian and West Africa teachers.
-
Do I need a certain body type for yoga?
All body types are welcome to yoga.
-
What is decolonization and why is it important in Yoga and other wellness spaces?
Colonization, “the action or process of settling among and establishing control over the indigenous people of an area”; in wellness spaces like yoga
To truly decolonize yoga, we must remember that yoga is a thousand-year-old ancient Indian tradition with many complex roots that have been Westernized, watered down and seen as a commodity. It is more than being flexible, showing off beautiful postures and wearing cute yoga pants. Understanding our privilege and giving cultural credit to our yoga teachers that came before us can help us truly decolonize and liberate its roots.
One way to decolonize is to make yoga spaces accessible.
